Description
Chapel Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century, with possible earlier origins, and was extended in the 18th or 19th century. It has a timber-frame construction that is plastered, topped with a steeply pitched pantiled roof. The building has a broad two-cell plan with end stacks and an additional bay added to the left side. It is one storey high with an attic. The entrance is located at the original centre, featuring three-light transomed glazing bar casements with hoodboards, and the plinth is raised on the left bay. There are three gabled dormers with two lights each. At what is presumed to be the original left end, there is a large axial ridge stack, while the right end has an internal stack that tapers towards the base. The left end includes two-light casements with a pentice board and a hoodmould over paired attic casements, along with exposed plates and purlins. There is an added lean-to at the rear left. The interior has not been inspected.
