Description
New Hall is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century. It has two storeys and attics, featuring a three-cell plan with both a lobby entrance and a cross-passage. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a plaintiled roof that includes gabled casement dormers. An axial chimney made of red brick dates from the 17th century. The windows are early 20th-century casements with transoms, while there is a large original ovolo-moulded mullioned window in the parlour. A 20th-century entrance porch leads to a six-panelled door. Inside, there are areas of exposed tension-braced close-studding and a butt-purlin roof. The parlour cell to the right contains two plastered fireplaces with 4-centred arches. To the left, there is an 18th-century kitchen extension.
