Description

Mendlesham Hall is a manor farmhouse dating to the 16th century, renovated in the 1980s. The building is timber-framed and rendered, with a hipped roof covered in plain tiles. It has an L-shaped plan, two storeys, and an attic. The windows are casements, each with a single horizontal glazing bar, all dating from the 1980s. The main front features a 1980s doorway with a glazed door, side lights, and a projecting hood. Two internal stacks are present, one in each wing, each featuring a group of four separate octagonal shafts; the shafts of the front range have moulded bases. The rear stack has an inset square panel in its base. The interior is reported to have been considerably modernised in the 1980s. The hall is surrounded by a medieval moat.
