Description
The Holywells Park Stable Block and Tower is a stable block built around 1870, originally serving the now-demolished Holywell Park Mansion. It is currently used as a local authority store and workshops. The building is constructed from white and red brick and features slate roofs with a courtyard layout. A notable aspect of the structure is its 5-storey square clock tower, which has white brick rusticated quoins. The tower includes round-headed metal windows with glazing bars and clock faces on the top floor facing north and west. It is topped with a hipped roof that has an open cupola and a weathervane. The attached courtyard buildings are one and two storeys high and have been altered over time. Inside, the north range contains riding-horse stables with two complete stalls, which include iron rail guards, feeding troughs, and hay-racks.
