Description

Nos. 1-3 Church Cottages in Wenhaston are likely a former guildhall that was later used as a school and courtroom, and are now three cottages. The building dates from the 16th century and was re-roofed in the late 18th or 19th century. It is timber framed and plastered with a pantiled roof, standing two storeys high. The facade features a three-window range with three-light casements and three doorways, including one boarded door and two mid-20th century glazed doors. There is one internal stack and one external stack to the south, which abuts No. 4 Church Cottages. The interior has been significantly modernised, but retains some good quality exposed timberwork, including long arched braces to the tie beams.
