Description

The Mill House is a building from the late 18th century to early 19th century, constructed of Flemish bond brick and topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys high. The entrance front features three symmetrically arranged bays. The ground floor has a central half-glazed doorway with a plain Neoclassical surround, including a pediment and a half-glazed door with egg and dart detailing on the lower raised and fielded panels, along with three 3 x 3 glazed panes above. Flanking the doorway are sash windows, with the left window having horns, both featuring three 3-pane sections and cambered splayed heads. On the first floor, there are two similar windows on either side and a blank recessed panel in the centre.

On the right gable end, there is a half-glazed door positioned to the right of centre, with two cross windows to the left, both having cambered heads, and two similar windows on the first floor. The gable apex is topped with a chimney stack that has two flues. The left side of the house has a cambered-headed cross window on the ground floor, slightly left of centre, and a similar window on the first floor. There is a 20th-century wing to the left, featuring metal framed casements. At the rear, there are two bays on the left with a central six-panelled door that has a fanlight. To the left of this door is a sash window with three 4-pane sections, and on the first floor, there are two similar windows. The right side of the rear features the projecting 20th-century wing.
