Description

Spring Cottage is a house dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is timber-framed and has a thatched roof. The house is single-storied with an attic. The front, facing the road, has a doorway positioned slightly left of centre. To the left of the doorway is a two-light and a three-light ground floor casement window, and to the right are two two-light casement windows. Above these, on the first floor, are four eyebrow dormer casement windows. A ridge stack rises from the centre of the roof to the right, with two flues, and a single-flue stack rises at the left. The left-hand gable end has a doorway on the right side and a two-light first floor window. This reflects group value as a well-preserved example of a vernacular building.
