Description

The Mill is a watermill dating from the 18th century, constructed with a timber frame and covered in clapboard. It features a gambrel roof, with plain tiles on the lower pitch and pantiles on the upper. The building has two storeys and an attic.

On the river-facing side, there is a mill race on the left with a cambered head that encloses a mid-20th century cast iron waterwheel, which is underdriven. To the right of the waterwheel is a cross window. The first floor has a six-panel doorway on the right, decorated with nailhead detailing; the central two panels were formerly glazed but are now boarded over. This door is accessed by a 20th-century oak staircase.

The right gable end features a glazed door on the ground floor and a three-light window on the first floor, along with a lucam that has a window of four by four panes. The left gable end has a central ground floor door. At the rear, there is a lean-to sun porch with clapboarded sides, which has three openings to the front supported by chamfered posts, and a doorway to the rear wall. On the first floor to the left, there are two two-light casements.

Inside, the mill includes a wooden wheelshaft with a pitwheel, and a wooden upright shaft that supports the wallower and compass-arm spurwheel. However, the millstones and their drive are missing.
