Description
Elms Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, likely built in two phases, with an 18th-century dairy wing added to the rear. The structure is timber framed and plastered, featuring some colourwashed brick casing and a weatherboarded gable end on the left. It has a pantiled roof with glazed black tiles at the front. The building is two storeys high with an attic and follows a three-cell layout. There are three windows, which are 18th to 19th-century casements, each with a single horizontal glazing bar. The lobby entrance includes a six-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed, and is adorned with a shaped convex frieze that has a key and cornice. The eaves cornice is made of plaster cove. Notably, the exterior portion of the main stack has been removed. Inside, some framing and joists are exposed, and there is a newel staircase along with two separate attics.
