Description

This building is a tithe barn located 30 meters west of Bramfield Hall, likely dating from the 16th century. It is primarily constructed of timber framing, with a small section made of red brick. The exterior is partly weatherboarded and partly plastered, and it has a roof covered with glazed pantiles. The barn features seven or eight bays and includes an intermediate floor, except at the north end. The trusses are supported by arched braces, and the roof structure consists of a lower row of butt purlins and an upper row of clasped purlins, along with arched wind bracing and closely spaced rafters. The timber frame is largely unaltered and of high quality.
