Description

Lodge Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located on the Halesworth Road in Ilketshall St. Lawrence. It is two storeys high with attics. The farmhouse is constructed of red brick with a black glazed tile roof. It features two end chimney stacks with plain square shafts, tumbled gables, and a brick dentil cornice. The front elevation has two three-light mullion-and-transom casement windows on each floor, and a similar two-light window above the central doorway. A C20 half-glazed door now occupies the main entrance, replacing an earlier six-panelled door. Above the door is a fanlight with radiating glazing-bars, and the surround features pilasters, a broken entablature supported by console brackets, and a triangular pediment, all with dentil ornament, as well as panelled linings. A 1½-storey lean-to extension in matching materials is situated along the rear.
