Description
Nos 17 and 19 Market Place are 18th century buildings that stand three storeys tall, constructed of red brick with a pantile roof. No 17 is painted white. They feature a wooden modillion cornice and have seven first-floor windows, which are sash windows with glazing bars, flush frames, and flat arches. The shop front of No 17 is an early 19th-century wooden design, while part of Nos 19 and 21 also has an early 19th-century shop front with pilasters and an entablature. The glazing bars date from the 19th century, except for the patterned fanlight. These buildings form a group with Nos 1 to 11 (odd), Nos 11A, 13, and 21, alongside the Butter Cross.
