Description
Nuttall Farmhouse is an early 16th-century farmhouse that features a timber-framed and plastered structure with a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high and has a three-cell layout, originally designed with a cross-passage entry. The building includes various 19th and 20th-century casement and sash windows, along with a boarded half-door at the rear. There is an internal stack and a smaller stack at the service end. Inside, some timber framing is exposed, showcasing a heavy frame with widely spaced studs and tension-bracing at the gable ends. The open truss at the first floor has heavy arched braces and supports a queen post roof, though it appears that much of the original roof may be missing. Additionally, there is a good plank and muntin screen that has been removed from its original position against the cross-passage and divided into two sections.
