Description
The Grove is a house with an early 19th-century facade that features both earlier and later work at the rear. It is constructed of red brick, which was formerly colourwashed, and the left-hand return front is plastered to imitate ashlar. The building has a hipped roof covered with glazed black pantiles and consists of two storeys and an attic. The symmetrical facade includes five windows with inset sashes that have glazing bars, all set under flat brick arches. The doorway features an inset six-panel door, with the upper four panels being glazed, and is topped by a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. The doorway also has panelled reveals, a moulded architrave, a fluted frieze, and a cornice. Additionally, there is a wood eaves cornice and two flat-roofed dormers.
