Description
Lound Hall is a house dating from the late 18th century, constructed of red brick with a slated roof. It stands three storeys tall and has a double pile plan. The main facade, which faces north, features five bays, with the central bay slightly projecting. The facade includes inset sash windows with glazing bars set under flat brick arches, and half-height windows on the second floor. The entrance has a six-panel raised and fielded door with a semi-circular fanlight that has Gothick glazing bars. This is flanked by plain Roman Doric pilasters and topped with a dentil cornice and an open pediment. There is a wooden eaves cornice and a boarded soffit. At the rear, there are five bays that mirror the front, including a matching entrance door and fanlight, although the doorcase has been altered by the addition of a porch. Inside, an elliptical arch leads to the entrance hall, which provides access to the well stair featuring slender turned balusters and carved tread-ends.
