Farmhouse. Probably C16, with mid C19 facade; mid C20 wing to right. L shape plan with 2-cell main range and a cross wing to the right. Timber framed with a white brick facade and modern roughcast render to the rear; pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. The main range has 2 windows, mid C19 casements in C16 style: 3-light mullion and transom ground floor windows with triangular stone pediments, 2-light mullioned first floor windows with drip moulds; each light has a single horizontal glazing bar. The doorway is placed to the right: inset 6-panel door (the upper 2 panels glazed), architrave with corner roundels and triangular pediment. The cross wing has matching windows and a mid C19 crowstepped gable. Both main range and cross wing have internal stacks with 4 hexagonal flues grouped in sawtooth fashion. Modernised interior. Occupies the moated site of the manor of Hales Hall.
