Description

Nos. 177-179 on High Street is a house and shop that was formerly two cottages. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone alterations in the early 19th century and again in the 20th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, with a colour washed flint outshut on the south gable. It has two storeys, featuring two casement windows and two sash windows in flush frames with glazing bars. The original windows in No. 179 have been blocked at the first floor. There is a 20th-century shop front and door. No. 177 has a 20th-century four-panelled entrance door with glazed upper panels. The building has red brick stacks on the ridge and the south gable end.
