Description
Willow Farmhouse is an early 16th-century farmhouse that features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with colourwashed brick on the right-hand gable end and a half-hipped thatched roof. The building has two storeys and includes various casement windows, mostly from the mid-20th century, along with a mid-20th century half-glazed entrance door. There is an internal stack and an external stack on the left-hand gable end. Originally a modest open hall house, it consists of six irregularly spaced bays, with two at the south end and one at the north end ceiled over, though there is no evidence of partitioning at ground level. The open hall is formed by the three closely spaced central bays. Notably, the floor beam immediately north of the stack is only chamfered on the north side, suggesting the presence of a firehood before the stack was added. The roof features queen posts and is smoke-blackened throughout. Overall, the interior has been significantly modernised.
