Description
The Potash is a farmhouse dating from the mid-16th century, with an early 17th-century wing on the west side, forming an L-shaped plan. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The main range is a single storey with an attic, while the later part has two storeys and an attic. The building features various casement windows, mostly from the 20th century. The main range includes two boarded doors, one of which has a simple gabled hood, and two eyebrow dormers. There is an internal stack in the main range and an external stack in the later part. Inside, the farmhouse showcases some good exposed timbering, and the later section contains a particularly fine original newel staircase.
