Description
Bridge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-16th century. It is timber framed with plastered panels and has a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and features a three-cell plan. The front has a three-window range with three-light mullion and transom casements. There is a cross passage entry that includes a six-panel raised and fielded door, with the upper two panels being glazed. An internal stack is present, and there is a two-storey colourwashed brick wing at the rear. Inside, the farmhouse has exposed timbering and notable inglenook fireplaces. One ground floor doorway features carved spandrels and the original door, while some 17th-century panelling can be found on the ground floor. The roof has a queen post design, and the staircase has been imported from Ash High House in Campsea Ashe.
