Description
Church Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse constructed with a timber frame and roughcast render, featuring 19th-century red brick on the left-hand gable end. The roof is covered with double Roman tiles and the building has two storeys with a three-cell plan. It includes various 19th-century casement windows and a lobby entrance with a 19th-century four-panel door. To the right side, there is another doorway with a 19th-century four-panel door, where the upper two panels are glazed. Inside, there is an internal stack with three linked 19th-century flues arranged diamondwise, adorned with a sawtooth brick cornice at the base and on the flue caps. A smaller stack on the right side matches this style. The interior features good exposed timbering on the first floor, a well-crafted newel staircase with the original door, and an arched head on the original front doorway. The roof has likely been replaced, probably in the mid-19th century, and the stairs leading to the former attic are now blocked.
