Description
The Queen's Head Inn is a public house that dates back to the early 16th century on the left side and the early 17th century on the right side. It consists of a single range divided into two sections. The building is timber framed and plastered, with the right section featuring a 19th-century red brick gable end and a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic in the right section. The windows are mainly 19th-century three-light casements, and there are 20th-century half-glazed doors for each section, with the entrance to the older part having a simple gabled porch. Inside, there are two internal stacks. The later section includes moulded floor beams on both the ground and first floors, newel stairs (with the attic stairs being original), and a well-preserved exposed roof structure. Notable features include two impressive four-centre arched brick fireplaces and several original doors, including one arched doorway on the first floor of the older section.
