Description
The gazebo at the south-west corner of the garden of Number 1 is a 17th-century structure. It is a square panelled room, approximately 9 feet across, featuring a domed ceiling that is painted with scenes of hunting, fishing, and boating, set against a backdrop of a village, church, and rivers. This artwork, possibly created by a painter of the Dutch School, is on canvas fixed to the plaster and is in good condition. The gazebo has one sash window with glazing bars and a flush frame. There is an extension to the main square, which is either contemporary to the original construction or from the 18th century, adding about 6 feet to the overall size.
