Description
49A, 50A, and 50B on High Street are a pair of houses, now converted into flats, dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed of brick and feature a roof made of black-glazed pantiles. The building stands three storeys tall and is arranged in four bays. The ground floor has been partly rebuilt in the late 20th century, with one 20th-century panelled door on the right and another on the left, both set within fibreglass doorcases from the same period. Between the doors, there are two 2/2 horned sash windows, each set under gauged skewback arches. The upper floors have four similar sash windows, with those on the second storey being shorter. A modillion eaves cornice is present below the hipped roof, which has one chimney stack on the north slope and another on the south slope. Additionally, there is a three-storey hipped wing that extends east down Crown Score, featuring a rendered east front and late 20th-century windows.
