Description
The building is a stable, now used for general storage, located north of Walmer House and adjacent to Acton Road. It was built in the early 19th century and is constructed of brick with a roof made of black-glazed pantiles. The wall is made of whole flints with some brick incorporated. The south side of the stable features two stable doors and a hay-loft door above, along with a dentil eaves cornice and a gabled roof.
At the west end of the stable, there is a gabled utility room that is set at right angles and covered with a red pantiled roof. This gable is visible from the street edge-on at the extreme west end of the wall and is made of flint. The flints in the wall are coursed, and the wall steps down in the center to reveal the brick of the stables above. At the east end, the wall transitions into Flemish bond brick construction and is interrupted by a pair of timber gates.
