Description
Tower Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage built of red Flemish bond brick and topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features a road front that is symmetrically arranged in three bays. The central bay, which is slightly projecting, is two storeys tall and flanked by single-storey lean-to bays on either side.
The central bay has square turrets at the corners, which contain vertical slits at the ground floor and cross-slits on the first floor. At the ground floor, there is a three-light casement window with a Tudor hood mould, while the first floor features a two-light casement window with a four-centered head and hood mould. Above this, a battlemented parapet with moulded coping runs around the turrets.
The lean-to bays on either side of the central bay have four-centered relieving arches surrounding recessed panels that contain 20th-century single-light windows with square hood moulds. The half-gables are adorned with moulded brick kneelers and coping. Additionally, a 20th-century loft extension with a slate-hung side wall and felt roof is located above the right-hand half-gable.
