Description

Woolworths is a building dating from 1852 located on the north side of Thoroughfare. It is a two-storey structure with an attic, featuring a tiled roof and six wood casement dormers, including one on a splay and two three-light dormers on the return. The first floor has a continuous glazed front that follows the triple splayed corner, with wood arched lights that include central glazing bars. An entablature with a cornice follows the three gables, with the center gable being larger. The ground floor shop fronts have modern wood cases and sheet glazing, while the return side is faced with red brick. The building occupies an important position. Nos 1 to 11 (odd) form a group.
