Description
Nos 18 and 20 Thoroughfare is a pair of 18th-century, two-storey buildings that were originally constructed together. No 20 is built of red brick, while No 18 features stucco lined to resemble ashlar. Both buildings have two bands and a parapet, with a stuccoed plinth. The windows are sash types set in flush frames, and No 18 has a central five-light brick mullion window with an arched centre light that has a key, flanked by side lights with pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. There is also an early 19th-century shop front with modern glazing. The door of No 18 has six flush panels and an arched plain fanlight, along with pilasters and an open pediment. No 20 features a six-panel bolection moulded door with a case that matches No 18. These buildings are part of a group that includes The Crown Hotel and Nos 8 to 34 (even).
