Description

This is an early 19th century shop and dwelling, built on a quadrangle plan and featuring an archway entrance. The buildings are constructed of gault brick, with a slated hipped roof over number 48 and number 50. They are two storeys high and joined by a two-storey archway. Number 48 has a modern shop window at street level, with half-sash windows above. Number 50 has three bays, with a window arrangement of 2:1:2 sashes in flush frames, incorporating glazing bars. The windows are topped by gauged brick arches, except for the central first-floor window, which has a semi-circular gauged brick arch. The entrance doorway contains a four-panelled door with glazed upper panes and a semi-circular glazed fanlight set within a semi-circular arch. The buildings have moulded brick stacks and a brick splayed dentil course.
