Description
Shelleys is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with a later wing added to the right side and a large rear wing added around 1980. The building is timber framed with colourwashed brick casing, except for the rear which is plastered, and features a half-hipped pantiled roof. It has two storeys and an attic, following a three-cell plan that originally included a cross passage entry. The mid-20th century alterations include large pane casement windows, although one small original diamond mullion window has been revealed on the ground floor. There is a brick porch with a mid-20th century entrance door set into one side. Inside, there is an internal stack with two detached flues set diamondwise, and the modernised interior features some exposed chamfered joists on the ground floor and newel stairs.
