Description
Peasen House is a former farmhouse that was once divided into two or three cottages. It dates from the late 16th century and was extended on the right side in the 19th century. The building is timber framed and has modern cement render with a random-patterned textured finish, except at the rear, where the original materials are more visible. It has a pantiled roof and stands two storeys high with an attic at the later end. The original layout featured a three-cell plan with a cross passage entry.
The façade includes four windows with 19th and 20th century casements, and there is a mid-20th century door that is not in its original position, topped with a hood mould. There is an internal stack and remnants of 19th century stacks at each gable end. Notably, the rear of the house features a well-preserved original five-light diamond mullion window at the first floor level. The interior is particularly impressive, showcasing fine exposed framing and joisting, original floorboarding, and some original doors.
