Description
The Walled Garden attached to the north of Wenham Place is a structure from the 16th century, with later repairs and a 19th-century summer house. It is built of red brick, featuring some decorative diapering, and stands approximately 3 meters tall, enclosing a rectangular garden to the north of the house. The southwestern side of the wall is stepped and includes a polygonal buttress at the angle, which likely represents the remains of a former wing of the house. At the western angle of this buttress, there is a gabled 19th-century summer house that features a round-headed archway and carved barge boards. The garden includes gateways in the north and west walls, as well as two bee boles in the north wall.
