Description

Highlands Hall, formerly known as Highlands Farmhouse, is a 16th-century timber-framed and plastered building located on Highlands Road in Monks Eleigh. It features cross wings at both the north and south ends and has a tiled roof. The structure stands two storeys high with attics, and the upper storey juts out over the entire front, supported by a carved bressumer with curved brackets and remnants of tile shafts. The façade includes a range of four double-hung sash windows, each with a single vertical glazing bar. The gables of the cross wings are adorned with ornamental bargeboards. Notably, the south wing has a ridge chimney stack that features four grouped octagonal shafts set on a square base.
