Description

Hall House is a timber-framed and plastered building located on Lavenham High Street. It features a 14th-century single-aisled hall block, with the roof raised at the front and the aisle at the rear. At the north end, there is a 16th-century cross wing that jetties on the upper storey, supported by curved brackets, with the timber-framing exposed. The roof is tiled. Historically, it served as an inn known as the Pig and Whistle until the mid-19th century. The building has 18th-century window designs and has been renovated. It stands two storeys tall and has a four-window range of leaded casements, along with a modern garage door at the south end. The hall block features a wood modillion eaves cornice, and the interior includes well-preserved 16th-century moulded ceiling beams and joists.
