Description
The building at 6 and 7 Market Place in Lavenham is a timber-framed structure likely dating from the 16th to 17th centuries, with alterations made in the 18th century and later. It is two storeys high with attics. Originally, the upper storey was jettied, but only a small fragment of this projection remains. The front of the building has two casement windows. The ground floor incorporates a small, 18th-century bow window with glazing bars. The roof is tiled, featuring two original hipped dormers. A two-storey addition, with a lower eaves level and casement windows, extends from the south-west end. Further to the south-west, in Market Lane, there is another two-storey wing with a lower tiled roof and three casement windows.
