Description
Red House is an 18th-century building located on Bildeston High Street. It features a red brick facade that covers an earlier timber-framed and plastered structure. The building has two storeys and attics, with the attic storey added later, characterized by a parapet and four blocked windows. The front has five double-hung sash windows with glazing bars set in stuccoed reveals. The central section of the building projects slightly forward and includes an open pediment and a Venetian window on the upper storey. On the ground floor, there is a central six-panel door topped by a semi-circular fanlight with ornamental glazing, flanked by panelled reveals and pilasters, also with an open pediment. The roof is finished with slate and tiles.
