Description
Chadacre Agricultural Institute is a large, well-proportioned early 19th century house, finished in stucco, with extensive additions made in the early 20th century at the north end, along with later modifications. The rainwater heads on the south front are dated 1834. The building stands three storeys tall. The south front features a window arrangement of three windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor, while the west front has five windows and the east front has six. All windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground and first storey windows are adorned with moulded stucco architraves, and the first storey windows also have cornices. A raised band runs between the ground and first storey windows on all sides. On the west front, there is a large entrance porch supported by coupled pilasters, featuring a frieze and cornice, and a central double six-panel door topped with a semi-circular fanlight. A single-storey splayed bay projects from the south front. The roof is slate, with six rectangular chimney stacks that have cornices and wide overhanging eaves supported by shaped brackets.
