Description
The Red House is a Grade II* listed building dating from 1692, located on Bullocks Lane. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure from the 17th or 18th century, with two storeys, attics, and cellars. At the back, there is a small wing. The southwest front and southeast side are faced in red brick from the 18th century, topped with a parapet. The front elevation has a symmetrical arrangement of windows in a 2:1:2 configuration, with sash windows that include glazing bars. The central block projects slightly forward and is topped with a pediment that has a half-moon window. The first-floor central window is designed in a Palladian style, and below it, the central doorway is adorned with a flat hood supported by carved consoles, leading to a six-panel door. At the northwest end, there is an addition with one window and no attics.
