Description

Whatfield Hall is a timber-framed and plastered building, likely dating from the 16th to 17th centuries, though it has undergone significant alterations over time. The main block of the house faces southeast, with a rear wing extending northwest. It is two storeys high. The south-east front has a three-window arrangement of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor is faced with red brick, possibly indicating the replacement of a former jettied upper storey. Most other windows are casements. A gabled dormer window is present on the northwest wing. Two chimney stacks run along the ridge of the building, and a tall internal chimney stack is also visible.
