Description
Bellown is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a black glazed pantile roof and external brick gable end stacks. The house is two storeys and attics, with a symmetrical facade of five bays that are slightly uneven. It features a brick plinth, a band at the first floor level, and a small cornice decorated with modillion details. The central front door consists of six raised panels, a plain architrave, and a soldier arch above. Ground floor windows are flush frame horns sashes with glazing bars, set beneath flat arches. Five similar windows are on the first floor, their heads level with the eaves. Three 20th-century dormers, with either three or two lights, have been inserted into the roof. Some original doors and door furniture remain, including HL hinges.
