Description
Huntley House is a house dating from around 1600, which has been restored and extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame, rendered exterior, and plain tile roofs, arranged in an L shape. The building is two stories high with a main range consisting of three cells and later additions. On the ground floor, there are four 20th-century small paned casement windows, some of which have fixed lights. A 20th-century porch and door lead into the middle cell beneath an axial stack. The first floor has four similar windows and a small light above the porch. The house has an axial stack and an external left-hand gable stack, both topped with 20th-century chimney shafts.
Inside, some of the timber frame is exposed, and there are four-light diamond mullion windows at the first floor level on the front and right-hand gable. There is a blocked doorway with an arched head at the front of the parlour, and some reused timber can be found throughout. The stack is made of early brick, partly plastered or rebuilt. The interior features arched braced cambered tie beams and a clasped purlin roof with a ridge piece, although much of the timber has been replaced, with flat rafters at the left-hand end.
