Description
Copdock Mill is a watermill, now operated by an engine, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It has always been used as a feed mill. The building is constructed of red brick with gault brick dressings and features a slate roof. It stands at 2½ storeys tall and has four bays. The long facades are divided into two sections by gault brick pilaster strips, with similar clasping pilasters at the corners. The mill has four small-paned 5:5 metal windows, each with six opening lights, located beneath iron lintels. There are iron ties supporting the upper floor, and the ground floor is partly obscured by lean-to sheds. The entrance, added in the 20th century, is on the ground floor. The rear of the building is similar to the front and has four windows on each floor, with one window blocked on the ground floor. There is a timber lucum on the east gable, while the west gable has a similar window on the first floor, with the ground floor obscured by a lean-to. The mill features main and overflow arches, although only the overflow arch is currently functional. The floodgate remains intact, but the waterwheel has been removed.
