Description

Holgate is an early to mid-19th century house located on Hall Street in Long Melford. It is constructed from grey gault brick and features pilasters on the front. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window range, with double-hung sash windows that do not have glazing bars. These windows are topped with stucco lintels supported by small stub brackets, and the outer windows are three-light. The central doorway is framed by a Greek Doric doorcase, which includes fluted columns, a triglyph frieze, and a cornice. The roof is covered with slate.
