Description

Martins, located on Little St Mary's in Long Melford, is a 17th to 18th century timber-framed and plastered building that was originally two tenements. The northern section, which has one storey and attics, is the older part and may have originally been part of a larger house. The southern section was refronted and raised to two storeys in the 19th century. This southern part features a two-window range, with one window having glazing bars and the other being a three-light window without glazing bars. The northern section includes a gabled half dormer with casement windows. The ground floor has two small 19th-century shop fronts with pilasters and cornices, along with glazing bars in the windows and a central doorway that also has pilasters and a cornice. The roofs are tiled.
