Description

Hendrick House is a timber-framed building, likely originating in the 16th and 17th centuries, and significantly altered in the 18th century with a new facade. It is situated on the south-west side of Swan Street, Boxford. The building is two storeys high, with a central gable, and exhibits a two-window-one-window-two-window arrangement with double-hung sash windows containing glazing bars. A central six-panel door is set within a wooden doorcase featuring panelled pilasters and a pediment resting on enriched console brackets. A large carriage entrance is located at the north-west end. The roof is tiled and features a wooden eaves cornice with modillion detailing that extends around the central gable. A substantial chimney stack rises from the ridge, with diagonal shafts.
