Description

Thatch End and Crackett's is a range of cottages located on the south side of The Street in Shimpling, dating from the 17th to 18th century. The building is timber-framed and plastered, and it has been converted into two tenements. It is one storey high with attics and features casement windows. A modern gabled porch extends from the front at the west end. The roof is thatched and includes three gabled dormers along with a central chimney stack that has attached shafts. The cottages underwent renovation in the 20th century.
