Description
Ponds Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber-framed, with the right gable rebuilt in red brick and pebbledashed. It has a plain tile roof that features several courses of slates at the eaves, along with red brick stacks. The plan has been modified to include a central entrance and stair hall, which features a half-glazed door in a doorcase supported by consoles that hold up a hood. The windows are 16-pane sashes set in flush frames with sills, with unequal sashes on the first floor. There is a large projecting offset stack on the left and another stack on the right. The rear of the farmhouse has later additions. Inside, parts of the frame are exposed, showcasing jowled posts, a chamfered tie beam, and some wall studding.
