Description

Toppesfield Hall is an early 17th-century building that has been altered and extended in the 18th century and later. It originally served as an urban district council office. The building features twin gables at the rear, and a wing with a hipped roof, along with a massive projecting shouldered chimney. The front façade is a modern rebuilding dated circa 1840, constructed of yellow brick, and presents three windows on the first and second floors. The ground floor interior retains 17th-century panelling, with alterations made, while the first floor contains some 18th-century features. The building is listed for its original fabric and recognized for its group value, as it forms a group with the ancient walls to the north and east.
