Description
Tattingstone Place is a house built in the 18th century, referred to as a "New Building" in 1764 when it was occupied by a son of Thomas White, who purchased the estate from the Beaumont family and demolished the old mansion. The house is constructed of red brick and features a hipped red plain tiled roof, with red brick chimney stacks located at the front left and at the rear. It has a parapet and stands three storeys tall, with a band between the first and second floors. The façade consists of five bays, with pilasters on the right and left sides, as well as between the first and second and the fourth and fifth bays. The windows are small paned vertically sliding sash types, with gauged brick arches above the upper floors and the two left bays on the ground floor. A large single-storey entrance hall and room, added in the 20th century, is located to the right of the two windows. To the left, there is a panelled door with a moulded surround and a flat canopy, accompanied by three small paned vertically sliding sash windows, the centre one being tri-partite, and the right one forming part of a bay that faces south.
