Description

72 and 74 High Street are buildings dating from the 17th to 18th century, with early 19th century red brick fronts. They are two storeys tall and have two windows. The roofs are covered with slates, and the eaves have a soffit. Part of an old tile roof is visible above the ridge of No 74. Both buildings feature sash windows with central glazing bars only. No 72 has a modern shop on the ground floor, while No 74 has an entrance doorcase with consoles, a four-panel door, and a rectangular fanlight. Nos 72 to 88 (even) and the King's Head Inn form a group.
